Anti-Minutemen protesters were violently attacked by members of the East Bay Coalition for Border Security last Friday, July 14, all while the cops stood idly by and instead arrested a young woman protester and charged her with allegedly taking one of the racist's airhorn. Video of the assault is attached (approx. 30 seconds). We will be back in Fremont to confront these bigots on July 28, to stand up for immigrants in the Bay Area and let these bigots know that we won't be intimidated -- join us!

On July 4, residents of the St. Bernard Public Housing Project planned to storm the barbed-wire fences and reoccupy their condemned homes. But the powers that be are finally willing to negotiate. Artist Brian Springer spent a year scouring the airwaves with a satellite dish grabbing back channel news feeds not intended for public consumption. The result of his research is SPIN, one of the most insightful films ever made about the mechanics of how television is used as a tool of social control to distort and limit the American public's perception of reality. Take the time to watch it from beginning to end and you'll never look at TV reporting the same again. Tell your friends about it. This extraordinary film released in the early 1990s is almost completely unknown. Hopefully, the Internet will change that.

He estimates that over 6 million people have died in CIA covert actions, and this was in the late 1980's.
