A Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash (Trailer)

Peak oil's the name of the game. "The Age of Oil — 100-plus years of astonishing economic growth made possible by cheap, abundant oil — could be ending without our really being aware of it. Oil is a finite commodity. At some point even the vast reservoirs of Saudi Arabia will run dry. But before that happens there will come a day when oil production 'peaks,' when demand overtakes supply (and never looks back), resulting in large and possibly catastrophic price increases that could make today's $60-a-barrel oil look like chump change..."

Reporters Blow Whistle on FOX News

FOX News told reporter: "We'll tell you what the news is. The news is what we say it is." "We just paid $3 Billion dollars for these television stations." Reporters Steve Wilson and Jane Akre were first asked by FOX News and later bribed, to downplay a story they had on a cancer-causing growth hormone called Posilac. The reporters decided to blow the whistle on FOX News and filed a law suit. After the ordeal was over, it was discovered in the appeals court that it's actually not against the law to falsify the "News." To make matters worse, Monsanto Corporation (makers of Posilac), lobbied dearly to prevent consumer awareness and labeling of their products. Video of Lewis Black Demanding CNN To Take Down Banner... & They Do It

During an interview on CNN, comedian Lewis Black complained about CNN's overuse of banners and tickers. All of the 24 hour news networks use similar banners and news tickers which prevents the viewer from seeing the about 1/4 of the primary video. Interrupting his interview with CNN's Miles O'Brien and looking toward backstage, Black demanded, "You guys -- and let me just say this to CNN -- you guys have got have got to start [to] take the thing off the bottom of the page. Take the words off the bottom of the screen! There are people talking here." CNN promptly removed the banner and the ticker from the screen for the remainder of Black's interview.
